The active ingredient in self-tanning products is dihydroxyacetone (dha). dha has been used in cosmetic preparations for nearly 30 years and was listed with the fda in 1973. It is declared safe and suitable for use in cosmetics and used to color the skin. dha is derived from glycerin (vegetable origin) which is a commonly used cosmetic and food ingredient. dha is not absorbed into the body and poses no possibility of toxicity.

How long will my healthy glow tan last?

A healthy glow tan will last between 5-7 days, on average. The amount of physical activity, aftercare, and proper preparation for the tan are all factors of how many days one can expect their tan to last.

Will I look orange from a healthy glow tan?

Never! The solution healthy glow uses is a simple sugar derived from sugarcane, sugar beets, and the fermentation of glycerin. This colorless, 3-carbon sugar compound binds with the first layer of skin – the stratum corneum. These “dead “skin cells lack a nucleus and organelles and are thus unable to reproduce. However, the dead cells still contain keratin – an amino acid responsible for skin coloration. when dha chemically reacts with the keratin in the skin cells, there is a resulting darkening effect. These pigments, called melanoidins, range from yellow to brown, just like the natural melanin found within the skin’s layers. The brown sugar base ensures golden brown color eliminating all possibilities of an orange tone.

What if I have very fair skin?

Our healthy glow signature solution will react naturally with each specific skin tone. our certified airbrush technicians will custom blend a formulation specific to each client’s natural base color.However, if it is your first time tanning or you have an extremely fair complexion, we suggest choosing a lighter tone to ensure satisfaction.

How do I prepare for my healthy glow?

Thoroughly exfoliate and shave prior to your treatment. avoid wearing makeup, moisturizers, and deodorant to your appointment, as this acts as a barrier to the spray and stops the color from developing properly. wear dark-colored, loose-fitting clothing and sandals following your treatment.

If you’re planning on having wax, a manicure, or a pedicure, please do so before your treatment.

How do I maintain my healthy glow?

Do not shower or sweat for 6-8 hours following your appointment.

Moisturize using a paraben-free lotion at least twice daily for a minimum of one week. avoid chlorinated jacuzzis, saunas, and steam rooms.

If you are looking straight at the building from the street, the parking is to the left of the building, right near the gymnastics entrance. In addition, there is also parking directly across the street in the common area, it’s right in downtown Groveland.
