How to prepare and care for your Spray Tan
The secret to achieving a flawless healthy glow spray tan has everything to do with preparing the skin before a session and maintaining the tan after the session.
To ensure your tan is perfect and even, please follow this simple guide:
Before your appointment:
Exfoliate your skin 24 hours before your appointment. A good scrub and an exfoliating mitt will allow the elimination of all the dead skin cells and impurities on the body.
Shave or wax at least 24 hours prior. Pores need time to close before applying the solution.
Avoid using lotions, deodorants, or perfumes before tanning. These can leave a film and change the pH of the skin.
Manicures, pedicures, facials and massages should be done days before your appointment.
The application can be done with or without undergarments or a bathing suit.
Wear loose-fitting, dark clothing to prevent smudging.
Arrive with clean, dry skin and bring a hair tie and flip-flops for the ride home.
Have a big event? Book your tan 1-2 days before so your color has time to develop and settle.
After your appointment:
Wait 6-8+ hours (Organic Regular) or 1-3 hours (Organic Express) before your first rinse. This development time lets your color fully set.
Make your first rinse a quick, lukewarm, water-only rinse. Skip soap, scrubs and loofahs, then gently pat dry.
Skip lotion, deodorant, makeup, tight clothing, bras and socks until after your first rinse.
Avoid activities that cause sweating or any contact with liquid during the development period.
If your session takes place in the evening, wear loose dark clothing to bed to prevent bronzer from transferring.
Pat dry after showering and avoid exfoliating cleansers or brushes.
Moisturize daily to maintain your tan and prolong its longevity.
Excessive sweating, hot tubs, saunas, long baths and pools can cause a faster fading.
